National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day
Honor and remember those who have lost their lives while experiencing homelessness. This solemn day of remembrance will include candlelight vigils and other commemorative activities across various locations in Chester County. Mark your calendar and check back for location updates.
Know Your Rights as a Renter Event
Join the Housing Equality Center of Pennsylvania, Legal Aid of Southeastern PA, and other local resource representatives for an informative "Know Your Rights as a Renter" event. Attendees will learn about their rights as tenants, what to do if facing housing challenges, and get answers to any questions about their current living situation. | This event is a part of CCPEH's HHAW 2024 Programming.
Poverty Simulation 11/15/24
Come join us for a unique experience where you will step into the shoes of individuals facing poverty. This event aims to raise awareness and empathy for those living in challenging circumstances. Through interactive activities, you will gain a better understanding of the daily struggles and tough decisions that many people in poverty face.
Poverty Simulation
Kennett Area Community Service, in partnership with United Way of Chester County, United Way of Southern Chester County, Oxford Neighborhood Services, SILO, Chester County Partnership to End Homelessness, PA Migrant Education Program of Chester County Intermediate Unit, Lighthouse Youth Center, and ChesCo Bridges Coalition, will host a Poverty Simulation. Poverty Simulation is a great tool that organizations can use to help their Board of Directors, volunteers, donors, and community-at-large understand what it could be like to be a part of a family trying to survive.
Homelessness & Education Training for Service Providers
Help students and families experiencing homelessness understand their educational rights. This session will prepare you to assist students and families in understanding their educational rights under the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Learn how to connect with school districts in Chester County and about educational resources available to homeless children and youth. | Register by July 24, 2024
Diversion Training: A Client-Centered, Conflict Resolution Approach
Join us for an essential Diversion Training session. Diversion is a crucial frontline defense against homelessness, intercepting individuals seeking shelter and guiding them towards immediate alternative housing solutions. This virtual training session will be held via Zoom.
CANCELLED - KACS Poverty Simulation
We invite you to attend the Poverty Simulation to understand the realities of poverty. During this simulation, you role-play the lives of low–income families and have the stressful task of obtaining necessities and shelter on a limited budget during four 15-minute “weeks.” You will interact with human service agencies, grocers, pawnbrokers, bill collectors, job interviewers, police officers, and other resources in the community.

KACS Poverty Simulation - Postponed until Spring 2024
Poverty is a reality for many individuals and families. Approximately 31,000 people living in poverty in Chester County face daily challenges of choosing between rent, medicine, or food. This Poverty Simulation is a learning tool to help the community understand what it could be like to be part of a family trying to survive from month to month and to inspire change.
Homeless Persons' Memorial Day 2023 | Art Event
As the winter solstice approaches, join the Chester County Partnership to End Homelessness (CCPEH) in commemorating National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day on December 21st, 2023. This year, we invite you to witness a powerful art installation at The Historic Court House in Chester County, which will be available from noon on December 20 to noon on December 22.
Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Proclamation Signing
Join us on for a hybrid Commissioner's Meeting during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week in Chester County. The commissioners will sign a Proclamation, reinforcing their dedication to addressing these issues. Phoenixville Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week
Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program where people come together across the country to draw attention to the problems of hunger and homelessness. This year, seven local non-profits and several area businesses local to Phoenixville are teaming up to raise awareness about food insecurity and homelessness in our community.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Action
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Action on Monday, January 16th, Friends Association for Care and Protection of Children & W.C. Atkinson Memorial Community Service Center will be hosting multiple community service events in the local Chester County area.
National Homeless Persons' Memorial Service
National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day is observed each year on December 21st, the first day of winter and the longest night of the year. We invite you to come honor Chester County residents who passed away in 2022 while experiencing homelessness. Registration is required.
